GRID-Arendal is a Norwegian foundation that supports the United Nations Environment Programme.  It is a centre of excellence for the scientific analysis of environmental issues in many areas including environmental assessments, ocean issues and polar regions.

IIGE is a research institute that promotes development, innovation and transmission of technology focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy. The institute aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the Ecuadorian society, through the implementation of energy efficient and energy renewable policies and projects.

The Global Environment Centre Foundation (GEC) is an entity that supports the UNEP’s International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC), based in Japan. GEC is dedicated to the transfer of environmentally sound technologies, in both developing countries and countries with economies in transition. The foundation aims to contribute to Japan’s international efforts on the environment, sharing project collaborations as well as promoting Japan’s rich conservation knowledge and experience in developing nations.

Energy and Environmental Development Research Center (EED) is an institution committed to policy and economic research on energy and environment, technology development, as well as professional training, institutional strengthening, and capacity building. EED’s service areas cover: i) climate change/low-carbon economic development; ii) new/renewable energy development; iii) energy efficiency improvement; iv) environmental protection in rural and regional areas; v) industrial and urban pollution control; and vi) energy and environment advisory.

CO2GeoNet is a non-profit scientific Association comprising 26 research institutes spanning 19 European countries and is the independent European scientific authority dealing with all aspects of geological storage of CO2. The Association draws together more than 300 experts, researchers and postgraduate students. CO2GeoNet started as a Network of Excellence under the EC 6th Framework Programme (2004-2009) and became a non-profit scientific Association in 2008 registered under French Law.

VIGMR, established since 1965 under MONRE, is leading research institute in Vietnam on Geosciences and Mineral Resources. With mandate to boost sustainable national development by geoscientific and technological advancement, VIGMR conducts researches, survey and development of georesources, R&D and achievements diffusion  corresponding to geohazards and global environment changes. Geopark, renewable energy, waste treatment, phytoremediation of environment, CO2 mineralization and other climate change technologies, and community-based capacity building are some focuses of VIGMR. 

The heating and cooling system of the hospital in Kristianstad uses energy from an aquifer in order to heat the hospital in winter and cool it in summer. This is a unique clean energy solution that uses “free energy” in a creative way. The solution was developed by Region Skåne in cooperation with the company Malmberg Water.

Kirkuk Technical College is a research and academic institution established in 1998, by the Government of Republic of Iraq with the mission to provide advanced technical education and create mechanisms for constant scientific, technical and moral evolutions of people so as to ensure continual development of the society. It conducts research studies and assessments on range of topics and develops knowledge products.

Motiva Services Oy is a Private Sector Organization established in 2008 with a mission to create well-being by promoting the use of energy and materials that are as harmless to the environment and as productive as possible. Motiva Services Oy is fully owned subsidiary by Motiva Oy. Motiva operates as an affiliated Government agency (an in-house unit) and its entire share stock is in Finnish state ownership.
