REGATTA's objective is to strengthen capacity and knowledge sharing of climate change technologies and experiences for adaptation and mitigation in Latin America and the Caribbean. REGATTA pilots the establishment of a regional network of technology centres to support Latin American and Caribbean countries in meeting their technology requirements for low carbon and climate resilient development. This regional Network aims to contribute to the implementation of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN, for its acronym in English) in the region.

The objective of the Caribbean Savannah Carbon Sink Project in Colombia is to pilot the use of carbon sinks (through sylvo-pastoral and reforestation systems) as a tool to arrest the process of land degradation in the coastal plains of the country (focused on 2200 ha of the Caribbean Savannah ecosystem).

The Ibero-American Model Forest Network (RIABM) aims to be a regional benchmark for the sustainable management of forest-based landscapes. It promotes cooperation among model forests, institutions and member countries based on knowledge exchange and innovative experiences and contributes to public policies related to the sustainable management of natural resources. It is the first voluntary regional organization to be created that brings together 14 countries and 28 model forests in Central and South America, the Caribbean and Spain to share knowledge and experiences.
