    The Clean Energy Solutions Center is a Web-based resource that helps governments design and adopt policies and programs that support the deployment of clean-energy technologies. The Solutions Center’s three main offerings are Ask an Expert policy assistance, training and peer-to-peer learning forums, and a rich library of technical tools and publications. The Solutions Center is an initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), a global forum to share best practices and promote policies and programs that encourage and facilitate the transition to a global clean energy economy.

  • Derisking Renewable Energy Investment

    This report provides an analysis of (1) policy and financial de-risking instruments and (2) how they best fit into a developing economy to create feasible renewable energy projects. South Africa, Mongolia, Panama and Kenya are used as case studies to illustrate how instruments are being used in different situations. Implications of de-risking instruments are discussed in-depth to close out the analysis. Accompanying the report is a financial tool designed to help policymakers make more informed decisions about the most cost-effective courses of action.

    Together, the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) and the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) form the Technology Mechanism of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.  Created in 2010, the TEC is the Mechanism’s policy arm. The TEC focuses on identifying policies that can accelerate the development and transfer of low-emission and climate resilient technologies.

It promotes climate and clean air technologies such as electric mobility, fuel efficient vehicles, walking and cycling, clean technologies for power generation, cooking and heating in developing Asia. It is an NGO registered in 2007 based in Manila and officies in Beijing and Delhi. It is a UNFCCC observer and a UN Type II partnership.

    The Hindu Kush Himalayan region encompasses an area of 4.2 million km2 of hills and mountains in the countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal and Pakistan. With its vast expanses of snow and ice, the region it is known as the water tower of Asia, which is being significantly affected by climate change. The meltwater from Himalayan snow and ice feeds 10 large river systems of South Asia: the Amu Darya, Brahmaputra, Ganges, Indus, Irrawaddy, Mekong, Salween, Tarim, Yangtze and Yellow Rivers.
