International Partnership on Mitigation and MRV

The overall aim of the Partnership is to support a practical exchange on mitigation-related activities and MRV between developing and developed countries in order to help close the global ambition gap. The Partnership is comprised of approximately 90 countries, the majority of which are from developing countries. The International Partnership on Mitigation and MRV has no formal character and is open to new countries. Any country with an ambitious or upcoming climate agenda is very welcome to join.

    In the context of the Information Matters project – Capacity Building for Ambitious Reporting and Facilitation of International Mutual Learning through Peer-to-Peer Exchange, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the BMUB has provided technical support to four partner countries including Chile. The project aims to strengthen the in-country capacities for enhanced reporting on climate change in the selected countries in preparation of the Biennial Update Reports (BURs).
