This year's NDE Regional Forum for the Africa region will be held in a virtual format in conjunction with the UNFCCC Africa Climate Week 2021 (26 - 29 July, 2021) which is hosted by the Government of Uganda.
The Regional Climate Weeks 2021 build momentum towards success at COP26. The Virtual Thematic Sessions take the pulse of climate action in the region, explore climate challenges and opportunities, and showcase ambitious solutions. This is a platform for regional stakeholders to have their voice heard and contribute to COP26. As part of its mandate and as one of Mechanisms of the UNFCCC; the CTCN organizes Regional Forum for the National Designated Entities (NDEs) on an annual basis. The objective of the forum includes sharing updates and experiences of ongoing CTCN activities in the region and interact with climate technology stakeholders from the region, strengthen the regional NDE network, share national updates and bring attention to issues to be discussed during COP 26, strengthen collaboration and linkages between the CTCN support and other support mechanisms available under the UNFCCC and more importantly identify opportunities for enhancing actions for NDC implementation through innovative climate technology and financing options
Aligning with the objectives of the Climate Week, the CTCN Africa NDE forum will help build momentum towards successful outcomes at COP26 in Glasgow, UK, focussing on Accelerating Climate action through Climate Technology Transfer.
