CTCN organised a 3-days incubator consultation workshop 10-12 October 2018 in Díli, Timor Leste to support Timor Leste in reaching their Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) adaptation and mitigation targets through the deployment of climate technologies. The consultations were facilitated by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

The main objective of the workshop was to help the Timor Leste authorities to select appropriate technologies for four priority sectors in Timor Leste: 1) renewable energy, 2) waste to energy technologies, 3) water and 4) forests, biodiversity and coastal ecosystems. During the consultation workshop participants from Timor Leste were provided training by the AIT experts on how to prepare a CTCN technical assistance request and on the Green Climate Fund Readiness and Preparatory Support proposal template and requirements.

After the consultations workshop, the technical experts of AIT provided support to Timor Leste to develop a CTCN request for climate technology transfer assistance (linked to a GCF Readiness and Preparatory Support proposal).

This action was carried out with funding by the European Union.
