International Center on Small Hydropower

The International Center on Small Hydropower (ICSHP) is a public and non-profit institution under the auspices of UNIDO, China's Ministry of Water Resources(MWR) and Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).  It serves as headquarters of the International Network on Small Hydropower(INSHP),an international organization with more than 470 members from over 80 countries. Since its establishement, the ICSHP trained over 750 engineers from 55 countries, provided research, technical consultations, equipment supply, development of small hydropower in developing countries, conducted feasibility studies, organized about 50 international conferences and workshops in China and abroad. Within the framework of its projects, the ICSHP developed the first SHP Clean Development Mechanism project in China. As secretariat of China's National Association for Medium and Small Hydropower Equipment Manufactures, the ICSHP created new opportunities for investement in hydropower projects abroad.
