The 2023 compilation of national strategies, plans and projects on Green Hydrogen Technologies for Systems Transformation, intends to distil what has been learnt to date on green hydrogen and equip countries with the knowledge and capacity to understand and assess available system transformation options, including opportunities and challenges, to reach net zero emission targets.

This guide aims to help address this challenge by providing the missing identification and evaluation assistance that those looking for adaptation solutions initially face. More specifically, it focuses on adaptation technologies for building resilience to climate change induced hazards in the water sector.

The main conclusions indicated by the seven studies are the following: 
● The material type and weight of a shopping bag are important characteristics for determining its environmental impacts. A bag with the same material but double the weight has double the impact, unless it is reused more times or used to carry more goods. The LCAs in the meta-analysis indicate that a SUPB weighs approximately 6 g in China, India, Singapore and the US, but 18-20 g in Finland, Spain and the UK.

Objectives and commitments regarding the transfer of technology exist under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol.

Sweden is well positioned to help the world meet the aims of the Paris Agreement. The country’s power system is almost entirely decarbonised already, based on extensive hydropower resources and nuclear power, as well as district heating fuelled by biomass. In 2017, the Swedish electricity production comprised around 40% hydropower, 39% nuclear, 11% wind power and 10% combined heat and power fueled predominantly by renewable sources.

Technological change is one of the key arms in our arsenal of weapons to combat climate change. A country’s capabilities to drive and enable this change thus take on a critical role. The implications of our ability to manage a climate technology transition are enormous: a recent study suggests that to keep the global rise in temperature to less than 2 °C, the additional cost of deploying energy technologies between 2016 and 2050 is USD 40 trillion (IEA, 2015).

This Guide was developed to help support the policy making process in countries interested in pursuing a more gender inclusive energy sector. It is a blueprint primarily based on the experience gained in the development of the first-ever policy on gender mainstreaming for energy access that was adopted in 2017 by Heads of State in ECOWAS Member States. It distills key elements from the ECOWAS process and methodology used by the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) in driving the development and adoption of the policy.
