Access to freshwater is essential for our fundamental health and welfare. Water is also essential for sustaining agricultural productivity, and acts as a lubricant and coolant for many industrial processes. CTCN works to increase countries’ resilience to the impacts of climate change on water resources through partnering with organisations, research institutions and businesses. Together they provide established and innovative climate adaptation technologies such as water supply management using GIS, saline water purification and capacity building activities to strengthen vulnerability assessments in communities.   • Objective

    Membrane which permeates solvent (water) but does not permeate solute (salt). In desalination, pressure up to 10MPa is applied to seawater which enables water to pass through the revere osmosis membrane, while the salt is excluded.

    Currently, two types of material are used: bridged aromatic polyamides, and cellulose acetate. Membranes must withstand high pressure and also be resistant to fouling.

    MSABP is water purification technology based on a revolutionary biological treatment process in which a special biological carrier provides immobilization of microorganisms in a multi-stage aeration tank. Principles of treatment are as follows. 1. The effect of multi-stage changes the biota in each tank in an orderly manner thereby forming a food chain. 2.
