This wind resource atlas identifies wind characteristics and distribution of wind resources in Oaxaca, Mexico, at a wind power density of 50 meters above ground. The detailed wind resource maps contained in the atlas facilitate the identification of prospective areas for use of wind energy technologies for utility-scale power generation, village power, and off-grid wind energy applications. The wind maps were created using a computerized wind mapping system that uses Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
