As distributed energy resource technologies proliferate on the grid, resulting changes to the grid will make it more efficient and reliable, as well as provide end-users with the opportunity to more proactively use energy and reduce the cost of services. This paper summarizes the trends driving the evolution of our electricity grid, the impact those changes will have on our system and steps that stakeholders can take to capitalize on those transformations to ensure future growth.
