Background

Metal-casting is an energy-intensive industry and in India iron production is often clustered in groups of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Purpose

To upscale the successful energy efficiency drive that was piloted in Phase I in Coimbatore replicating the same approach with similar metal-casting clusters in Belgaum Bangalore (Karnataka); Vijayawada Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh); Palakkad (Kerala); and Chennai Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu)
