How can local environmental communication campaigns address gender differences in environmental knowledge, attitudes and behaviours' This report is based on information gathered on local government unit officials, local leaders and community members in three provinces in the Philippines. It aims to provide gender-related input into pilot environmental communication campaigns being planned at the local level in conjunction with other USAID- funded natural resource management projects. Gender-disaggregated research results gathered in 1996 are summarised and used to make local campaign recommendations specific to each group of people within the three provinces. Recommendations include: channels, styles and formats for environmental messages; appropriate themes; dissemination strategies; and possible educational activities.
