SmartGridCity is a technology pilot that explores smart-grid tools in a real-world setting. As part of SmartGridCity, Xcel Energy has successfully installed approximately 23,000 automated smart electric meters in Boulder, Colorado, United States as part of a new era in electricity grid management that will be able to meet the needs and maximize the benefits of electric vehicles.
