The Role of Public Finance in CSP: Background and Approach to Measure its Effectiveness

This background paper is one of a series prepared for the San Giorgio Group, a working group of key financial intermediaries and institutions engaged in green, low-emissions, and climate-resilient finance. It sets the stage for further study on the effectiveness of financing concentrated solar photovoltaic (CSP) projects. The authors’ analysis of the CSP landscape yielded four insights to be considered when analyzing the effectiveness of public interventions to finance CSP in emerging economies.
