This report describes how the water, energy and food nexus is at the center of global policy, development and the research agenda, and how, given the inter-linkages, meeting the growing demand for resources will be an increasing challenge. The report explains how renewable energy technologies can offer opportunities to address the trade-offs and to leverage on synergies between sectors to enhance water, energy and food security. It represents a starting point towards bridging the knowledge gap among these synergies.
