This report investigates supply chain initiatives (SCI) to highlight the ability and interventions by which industrial companies can exert influence on their suppliers. The ultimate goal of doing so is to increase enterprise sustainability by decreasing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the entire supply chain. Undertaking such initiatives can lead to cost savings, reduced exposure to climate-related risks, energy and GHG performance, improvements in productivity and product quality, and other co-benefits. The authors researched ten case studies in the Energy Productivity in the Supply Chain Database to conduct the study.
