This study describes lessons from the Energy Service Company (ESCO) industries in Brazil, China, and the United States, and analyzes factors that could either contribute to, or hinder, the growth of the Indian ESCO industry. Recommendations are presented for government, financial institutions, and ESCOs themselves to help the industry realize its market potential.
