PIDA: Interconnecting, Integrating, and Transforming a Continent: The Regional Infrastructure that Africa Needs to Integrate and Grow through 2040

This report summarizes the findings of the Study of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA), which is dedicated to facilitating continental integration in Africa through improved regional infrastructure. Sections 3–8 of the report address the transport outlook through 2040, the energy outlook through 2040, an outlook for transboundary water resources through 2040 and an outlook for information and communication technology (ICT) services through 2018. Closing sections are titled, Doing Things Differently: A Strategic Framework for Regional Infrastructure Projects, The Priority Action Plan: A Portfolio of Projects that will Promote Integration and Growth, and Implementing the Priority Action Plan: Institutional Arrangements to Overcome Fragmentation.
