Participation through Automation: Fully Automated Critical Peak Pricing in Commercial Buildings [Preprint]

This report outlines the development, testing and results of the Auto-Demand Response (DR) project. As a fully automated system that requires no human intervention to turn lights on and off, Auto-DR was implemented as part of a utility-sponsored project in California as part of a strategy to reduce peak loading. This project was started because DR levels can range between manually turning off the lights when leaving a room to implementing a fully automated system.
