This case study highlights Nicaragua's Off-grid Rural Electrification Project (PERZA), which aimed to provide decentralized electricity services to rural remote areas. Mechanisms to achieve this goal included strengthening the regulatory and financial framework, promoting public-private partnerships to improve delivery, and piloting microfinance and business development arrangements.
