The Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) is a Japanese initiative designed to facilitate the diffusion of climate-friendly technology to developing countries. At the 2015 Paris climate talks (COP21), a side event on the JCM was presented by the Global Environment Centre Foundation, the Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, Japan (OECC), and Japan’s Ministry of the Environment. The event provided an update on progress that the JCM has made in achieving its goals, and looked at how partner countries, such as Indonesia, have benefitted from the mechanism to date.
