This report considers several promising first- and second-generation biofuel production chains in Mozambique, Ukraine and Argentina. The three countries were selected because of the high availability of land for energy crop production. In addition, the countries represent very different biophysical and socio-economic conditions, which makes it possible to investigate and compare the impacts of biofuel production chains related to differences in supply chains and biophysical and socio-economic conditions.
