This paper quantifies the biomass resources in Egypt generated from different waste resources. Although Egypt is not under any specific emission reduction or limitation targets under the Kyoto Protocol, its national plans have included mitigation measures to reduce emissions. The paper looks at the efforts made by Egypt to reduce its contribution to global greenhouse gas emissions through the Kyoto Protocol’s clean development mechanism (CDM).
