Greenhouse Gas Mitigation in India: Scenarios and Opportunities through 2031

This report represents an important step in the discussions on the post-2012 international response to climate change, by providing concrete analysis and results to help both the internal deliberations in these four countries and the international community. This project has two phases, briefly described in the full report. This report presents the results of Phase I (GHG Mitigation Option and Cost Analysis) of the project analysis for India. In Phase I of this project, the teams conducted individual GHG emission mitigation analyses for major economic sectors. The results of Phase II for each country will also be available in a set of individual reports. The report concludes with a discussion of the proposed areas that may be focused on for the policy analysis of Phase II.
