As part of its Bioenergy and Food Security Criteria and Indicators (BEFSCI) project, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO of the United Nations has compiled a set of environmental practices that bioenergy feedstock producers can implement to minimize the risk of negative environmental impacts from their operations and to ensure that bioenergy delivers on its climate change mitigation potential. These good practices are divided into three main groups: agriculture management approaches; integrated, sustainable agricultural, and forestry management systems; and field-level agricultural and forestry practices.
