This Esri report provides an overview of geographic information systems (GIS) as a tool to develop renewable energy projects. The report includes several case studies as best practice examples of projects that have utilized GIS; renewable energy projects evaluated include those from United States Department of Energy (DOE); Cascade County, Montana (USA); Boston, Massachusetts (USA); and the State of California (USA).
