This Office of the Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) report presents the findings of the Energy Demand Research Project, a project conducted by energy suppliers that sought to determine the consumer response to varying levels of information about their energy consumption. The findings indicate that real-time displays and smart meters resulted in greater reduction in energy use and peak load than other types of interventions, with the exception of historical usage feedback to customers.
