This study investigates the implications of large-scale adoption of electric vehicles in Britain. It also presents the issues that need to be addressed if electric cars are to fulfill the expectation that they will maintain personal mobility in the face of diminishing and evermore expensive oil supplies and will contribute to the necessary limitation of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
