This paper describes results of performance and loss analyses for grid-connected residential photovoltaic (PV) systems. The voltage of power distribution lines is raised by both PV systems output energy and reduced load during weekends. Overvoltage of power distribution lines induces output regulation of PV inverters. Results indicate that both PV systems and reduced load raised approximately two volts of distribution line voltage and a combination of two factors induced substantial output yield reduction for PV systems.
