This report explores the cost and benefit effects of renewable energy (RE) expansion in the German power and heat sector. It is intended to improve the methodological basis for an integrated, economically sound analysis of the costs and benefits of renewable energy sources, among other things by extending the analysis beyond the usual focus on the electricity sector to include heat supplies from renewable sources.
