To raise the awareness and to build the local capacity for the designing and implementation of the projects on converting waste into material/resource source, United Nations Environment Programme has started compilation of compendium of technologies for various types of wastes. This report contains technologies that are in commercial use, under pilot implementation and under laboratory testing for converting waste agricultural biomass into material/energy source. It aims to raise awareness about the available options vis-à-vis technologies as well as to assist the policymakers and managers in the identification of appropriate technologies with respect to local circumstances.
