This document sets out a climate-smart agriculture (CSA) concept for Grenada which aims to improve the integration of agriculture development and climate responsiveness.
The plantation-based agriculture typical of Grenada’s producers predisposes the sector towards eligibility for carbon financing and trading mechanisms and the broad international donor network that accompanies them.
Most importantly, the formal adoption of a climate change strategy that incorporates CSA would provide a policy framework to facilitate access to additional international funding to make the widespread adoption of CSA feasible in the Grenadine context.
