This article explores the potential benefits of biomass for developing countries through both household use and commercial use in the rural and agriculture sector. In the household fuel and health sector, gains in fuel reduction and health improvement are possible through the design and dissemination of improved stoves. Commercial energy production from biofuels can open the door to low-carbon electricity production and for reductions in gasoline use.
