The filter has filter pocket surfaces that are manufactured from a sintered material (36). The sintered material contains a carrier material (38) and sinterable material. The carrier material is a sheet material and includes openings (42) in a comb-lattice form. The openings are pressed in the form of catena (54) into the carrier material. The openings that extend from Y and X - directions to flow direction of an exhaust gas are separated by respective bars (44 50) which exhibit respective bar widths. The carrier material is stainless-steel.
