How about a bus route with quiet, emission-free vehicles, powered by renewable electricity, which picks up passengers indoors?

It is a reality in Gothenburg, in the demo project ElectriCity. It is a progressive, award-winning collaboration between industry, research and society that develops and tests new solutions for tomorrow's sustainable transport. Quiet and emission-free public transport opens up a new scope for planning in cities, since it can operat in areas currently closed to traffic. Today, three buses on route 55 run entirely on renewable electricity electric and the rest are hybrid buses powered by electricity about 70 % of the route. One bus stop is situated indoors and others are constructed to isolate from noise pollution and offers a silent oasis while you waiting for the bus.
