The Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) was presented during the workshop "Enhancing Global Cooperation for Climate Technology Transfer and Diffusion" in Korea, organized by Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning/ Green Technology Center and GTC Center for Climate Technology Cooperation.
“CTCN serves as a bridge to essential knowledge, technical guidance, and financing in order to reach climate and development objectives. On a weekly basis, we are receiving multiple requests from developing countries“, says CTCN Director Jukka Uosukainen.
The participants discussed the need to activate the transfer of domestic climate technology to foreign countries using the UNFCCC technology mechanism in order to effectively respond to new climate systems and to improve Korea’s status as a technology donor country.
CTCN Director and Network and Capacity Building Manager also presented opportunities for domestic industrial and academic research institutes to participate in the provision of technical assistance (TA) to developing countries through CTCN.
During his visit to Korea, CTCN Director Jukka Uosukainen will also moderate the session on Low-carbon transport and energy for sustainable cities during the Green Industry Conference 2016.
