Aeroponics
Aeroponics is the process of growing plants in an air or mist environment without the use of soil or an aggregate medium (known as geoponics). Unlike hydroponice, which uses a liquid nutrient solution as a growin medium and essential minerals to sustain plant growth; or aquaponics which uses water and fish waste, aeroponics is conducted without a growing medium.

The study was carried out with the objectives evaluating the technical performance of the pumps used in smallholder irrigated agriculture, studying the energy uses during pumping and identifying the possible causes of inefficient energy use, and evaluating the costs of pumping used during irrigation. A study to identify the occurrence of pumped irrigation systems in Thika and Yatta District, Kenya was done.

This study was undertaken to assess the carbon dioxide emissions for different irrigation systems, in the context of growing demand for adaption of pressurised irrigation with electric pumps in South Central India.
The paper argues that water application systems under wells extracting groundwater are one of the major factors influencing climate change in the agricultural sector.

During the past decade, smallholder groundwater irrigation with motor pumps has increased considerably in Zambia. This study analyses an important but hitherto ignored factor for adoption: the supply chain of imported motor pumps. The main obstacles for farmers are identified as: the highly centralised supply chain and financing facilities in urban hubs; lack of information about prices, which vary significantly for the same make and model of pump; lack of information and training on proper use and maintenance; and lack of financing facilities.
