ObjectiveCross-sectoral enabler
The Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) process identifies a country’s development priorities. These are derived from ongoing policies, programmes and projects, long-term vision documents as well as strategies for climate change mitigation and adaptation already in place. These development priorities are used along with climate mitigation and adaptation criteria for identifying highest priority (sub) sectors, and for prioritising technologies for mitigation and adaptation within these (sub) sectors.

Background: This insect trapping surface is embedded with microscopic hooks of various sizes that will trap bed bugs (Cimex lectularius) by impaling their legs. Despite aggressive pest control efforts bed bug infestation rates have dramatically increased since the 1980s and infestations are particularly difficult to control in densely populated urban areas. Available bed bug control techniques involve localized insecticide fumigation or introducing a fungus (Beauveria bassiana) lethal to the bed bug.

What is a Multipurpose Dam
Multipurpose dams combine two or more functions of traditional single-purpose dams into one hydro infrastructure project. A multipurpose dam may combine storing and supplying water for irrigation, industry and human consumption with other uses such as flood control, power generation, navigation, run-off storage and water discharge regulation.
