  • Technology Description: Pultrusion is a continuous manufacturing technique for the production of fibre reinforced composite materials of predefined dimensions. However there are some problems with the method that limit its use. These can be overcome by using new technology developed at the University. This new method ensures that fibres are spread within the bundle in the optimal way to maximise resin impregnation and ensure voids are not produced in the section.

  • Technology

Problem: Intermittency of wind energy supply from wind turbines Technology: This invention is a system for simultaneously anchoring floating offshore energy harvesting machines such as wind turbines and wave energy machines storing excess energy harvested and then generating continuous power to meet baseload demands. It consists of a subsea structure with a chamber that is anchored to the seafloor by either gravity or piles to resist mooring cable loads on the supporting floating structure used for the energy harvesting machines. The chambers are constructed from precast concrete.

  • Objective

Water fall pump based on hydrostatic pressure.

A hydram (hydraulic ram pumps) is an automatic pumping device which utilises a small fall of water to lift a fraction of the supply flow to a much greater height.

  • The photonic crystal (PC) nanocavity laser is an extremely promising optical source for optical interconnects since it’s been shown to have nanowatt thresholds and high speed modulation rates can operate in continuous wave mode at room temperature and can be easily integrated with passive elements such as PC waveguides. In order to be practical however electrical pumping techniques must be developed for the PC nanocavity. Researchers at Stanford have developed a novel technique for electrically pumping photonic crystal membrane nanocavities using a lateral p-i-n junction.

  • Background: Solid Oxide Fuel Cells operate at high temperatures (750-1000C) introduce difficult challenges related to high materials cost seals and interconnects startup time and long-term durability. Technology Description: This invention describes Sr0.8La0.2TiO3 (SLT)-supported SOFCs with a thin (La0.9Sr0.1)0.98Ga0.8Mg0.2O3-δ (LSGM) electrolyte and porous LSGM anode functional layer (AFL) for low temperature (450C-650C) application.

  • Background: Currently water will be mixed using a paddlewheel and then at a later point the water will be pumped out of the system where the algae is extracted from the water. Extraction methods include filtration centrifugation or even electrocoagulation in a separate system Technology Description: This invention is a control system that allows the precise combining of a hydrocarbon fuel steam and Ai/O2 l in an integrated auto-thermal reformer and water-shifting reactor unit.

  • Technology

The invention is directed to a system for supplying an internal combustion engine with fuel which includes the following functional components: a tank; a fuel pump; a metering device for metering fuel to the intake air; a feed line for conducting fuel from the fuel pump to the metering device; a reservoir which is so configured and mounted that fuel can be pumped therefrom to the metering device and which is not filled when tanking the tank and which can be again filled from the tank; and a control unit for driving the fuel pump and the metering device.

  • The magnetic fields due to magnets are cut by the blades and causes an induced voltage as it pumps water to storage tank. It is an integrated technology for water and electric energy generation using integrated water and magnets for both pumping and electric generation.

  • Technology

Energy conversion for water pumping.Technology consists of rotary blades to convert the wind energy into mechanical energy for water pumping. Blades are designed in relation to the energy desired to pump the water about 2-3 meters long. The switching on and off is done manually to pump the water but intends to use a floater in automation. Device can pump 6000 liters per 8 hours of good wind.

  • Whitewater Well has two main product lines: The Sandmaster: Unlike the common myth of a well producing sand only during well startup the concentration of sand and heavy particulate matter in pumped water changes over time and reaches high values for no special reason even when the pump works continuously for days and weeks.
