This publication provides a three-year plan of action to address existing gaps relating to vulnerability to climate change impacts and disasters. It details how the joint national action plan was developed and how it will be implemented. The publication also maps out the actions, activities and tasks required to meet these goals, and it provides indicative costing in preparation for implementation.

The Joint National Action Plan for Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation (JNAP) provides a roadmap to guide the Cook Islands in implementing Priority 5 (Resilience) of the National Sustainable Development Plan (NSDP) 2011 -2015. Two key objectives from JNAP are climate change disaster preparedness and reduced impact from climate change disasters.
