The second African Regional Workshop Peer-to-peer-exchange on BURs took place on October 15-17 in Berlin, Germany, with participants from Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. This report summarizes the information presented and discussed during the workshop.

In the absence of specific guidelines from the UNFCCC on how to develop NAMAs, implementing organizations, donors, and host countries have been formulating NAMAs in a trial-and-error basis. By extracting lessons from these experiences, the previous version of this guidebook introduced basic elements of NAMAs and also different approaches for NAMA-related decisions.

This report gathers key messages from the Anglophone African Regional Workshop on "Converting (I)NDCs into action: the role of NAMAs in NDC implementation", which tool place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 2-4 May 2016. On the one hand Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) are an important instrument to assist the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)1 under the Paris Agreement. On the other hand, NDCs can provide long-term targets and hence an important framework for the implementation of NAMAs.
