    The purpose of this institutional analysis of the Agence de l’Environnement et du Institutional Analysis of l’Agence de l’Environnement et du Développement Durable (AEDD) and l’Agence Nationale de la Météorologie (Mali-Météo), carried out in close collaboration with USAID/Mali, is to identify the capacity and needs of these two institutions and to provide specific recommendations to strengthen these two agency’s responses to climate change. The ARCC Mali Institutional Assessment of the AEDD and Mali-Météo was structured around a field visit to Mali from January 11-24, 2014.

    The objective of the Fostering Agricultural Productivity Project for Mali is to increase the productivity of smallholder agricultural and agribusiness producers in the targeted production systems and project areas. There are three components to the project, the first component being technology transfer and service provision to agricultural producers. The component's objective is to foster the modernization of smallholder farming systems and supply chains through dissemination of improved technologies and practices, and through the professionalization of agricultural support services.

    This publication outlines learning from the ‘Energy, Ecodevelopment and Resilience in Africa (EERA)’ in West Africa.

    Benin, Mali and Togo all participated in EERA which offers lessons to other countries on approaches that can be taken toward a ‘Smart Energy Path’. This strategy aims to meet peoples’ energy needs in an environmentally sustainable, resilient way, and is guided by a participatory decision-making process.
