The objective of the Energy Sector Development Project for Tuvalu is to enhance Tuvalu’s energy security by reducing its dependence on imported fuel for power generation and by improving the efficiency and sustainability of its electricity system. This project consists of the following three components: Component 1. Renewable Energy Investments. Supply and installation, for Tuvalu Electricity Corporation (TEC), of power-generation and grid-management equipment to increase the contribution of renewable energy in Tuvalu’s hybrid generation system and to reduce diesel generation.
