This document is based on on the conclusions from the Autumn School on ‘MRV – today, tomorrow and the future’ of the International Partnership on Mitigation and MRV, which took place in October 2012 in Germany. It summarises the Autumn School’s key findings and provides additional know-how and technical guidance on the design and setting up of domestic MRV systems. Tiered approaches have been included as examples, showing how countries can start with simplified approaches and improve their MRV system over time.

The Autumn School of the International Partnership on Mitigation and MRV focused on the topic ‘MRV – today, tomorrow, and the future’. It was designed as an opportunity for policy makers and planners to gain in-depth knowledge on designing and implementing national MRV systems, including methodologies for data collection, reporting and verification.

Energy efficiency is a key area within the energy sector which is recognized by the Energy Community and its contracting parties continuously and increasingly.

Building on the findings of the GeSI SMARTer2030 report, #SystemTransformation looks at how ICT will be instrumental in the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The report analyzes the current SDGs implementation gaps, identifies the key features that make ICT a fundamental tool to achieve the Goals, and provides a deep-dive into those Goals where the ICT contribution can be most immediate and important.
