During COP23, the Centre provided country Parties and other stakeholders with a platform to discuss progress and trends in technology transfer in terms of bridging gaps between countries' technology planning and the innovators and financiers implementing technology solutions. It is well documented that solar energy can be an effective means of cleaning contaminated water. This is because ultraviolet (UV) light destroys the formation of DNA linkages in microorganisms, thereby preventing them from reproducing and thus rendering them harmless.

GIST was established in 1993 by the Korean government as a research-oriented graduate school to train highly qualified scientists and engineers and to foster scientific and technological achievements. In 2010, GIST established GIST College to create a liberal arts based science curriculum for undergraduates. The strong research capability of GIST was reflected by the 2015/2016 QS World University Rankings when GIST was ranked number 2 in the world for citations per faculty.

The Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) together with the Radboud University (the Netherlands) organized a summer school on the climate action for sustainable development. There were 28 participants from 23 different countries of which CTCN is sponsoring 15 participants from the Least Developed Countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Chad, Djibouti, Guinea, Malawi, Myanmar, Mozambique, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia). 

Practical Action Consulting (PAC) is the consulting arm of Practical Action, an international non-governmental organisation that uses technology to challenge poverty in developing countries. Through technology PAC enables poor communities to build on their skills and knowledge to produce sustainable and practical solutions - transforming their lives forever and protecting the world around them. Every year PAC uses technology to help over 1 million people out of poverty.
