The goal of the Community Waste Management Practice (COP - MRE) is to provide current perspectives, practices and trends and key technologies, and the opportunities of these technologies to mitigate climate change and improving the conditions of welfare and health of the population in a relevant sector in the transition to low-emission and climate resilient economies.

Economic modelling approaches were implemented to estimate sectoral demand and supply between 2011 and 2050. Residential, tourism and domestic demand were analysed for three different scenarios, A2, B2 and BAU. The results of this project expect to stimulate governments, institutions, private sector and civil society to craft effective climate change adaptation and mitigation measures to ameliorate the projected impacts within the respective sectors and the economy.
