Summary:

Global warming is resulting in the world’s glaciers melting at a rapid rate, filling glacial lakes and increasing the likelihood of outburst floods (glacial lake outburst floods or GLOFs). Floods and mudslides caused by GLOFs can have devastating impacts on communities lying below the lakes, posing a threat to both lives and infrastructure.

PARIS, FRANCE December 3, 2015 - Developing nations are seeking a broad variety of green technologies through the UNFCCC’s Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), launched in 2014.  The CTCN provides free technical assistance and capacity building, including a newly launched online technology library, to facilitate technology transfer.
