    Launched by the Women and Gender Constituency in 2015, the Award honours the fundamental contribution of gender equality and women’s organisations in the fight against climate chaos and demonstrates the necessity to integrate gender equality in all climate policies.

    The Paris Agreement established the technology framework to provide overarching guidance to the work of the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee (TEC) and the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) in promoting and facilitating enhanced action on technology development and transfer. The TEC and the CTCN are pleased to launch their first joint publication on technology and the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC).

    This side event provides insights on how the CTCN, with its collaborating partners, have supported developing countries through capacity building to enhance skills of national stakeholders to generate investable projects from their identified technology needs.

    During the side event, countries will give examples based on their experience from this project preparation facility.

    The Climate Technology Centre and Network is accountable to the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the UNFCCC through the CTCN Advisory Board. The Advisory Board meets twice per year and provides direction on the CTCN’s fulfillment of the COP’s guidance.



    The Ninth Meeting of the Advisory Board took place at the UN Campus in Bonn (Germany) from 3-5 April, 2017.
